Quotes and quips

Weird Tamaki quote for the day:
“Because you have abuse in marriage it doesn't make marriage wrong as much as somebody goes to McDonalds to have a burger and finds out they get a wrong burger, it makes all McDonalds wrong. It doesn't, does it?”

Oh boy, don’t get us started on McDonalds…

I’m still in production mode in our basement… there has been a huge demand for screen-printed t-shirts. A couple of the slogans can be seen in the photos from yesterdays blog – “IT’S NOT MY DE$TINY” and “He tangata, he tangata, he tangata”. I also have a stencil for “Don’t like Civil Unions? Then don’t get one”, and the same but for same-sex marriage. I also do special requests (my ex-girlfriend wanted one with Brian: Your God Is Mammon”). Half the price of the Destiny black shirts! Email me if you want one. fionnaigh at stonesoup dot co dot nz

Here are a couple of designs I did as transfers – credit goes to Hinemoana and Tyree for thinking up these slogans.

i'm thinking someone made a lot of money out of the destiny shirts - $20 each - at an estimate they sold 2000+ wonder who owns the t-shirt factory - the tamaki bros ????

(feeling a little cynical)

Love the camel one. LOVE IT. How that man can defend that kind of wealth is beyond me. It's like he's never read anything about Christ at all. Did he stop at the end of the old testament?

Tamaki and his goons are not, by a technical description of the word, fascists. Fascists want to smash non-white immigrants and socialists as much as queers and prostitutes, and the former seem to be way down on Brian's list. But Destiny are definitely *using the same tactics* as the fascists - trying to build a mass movement to overthrow the liberal state, based on hatred, fear and ignorance. (I mean, black shirts and raised-fist salutes? Surely that wasn't deliberate?)

Plus, there *were* legitimate fascists in the Destiny march. National Front scum marched with them carrying their own signs. Has anyone asked Pastor Brian about that yet?

"And you rage and fume at the godless ones
'Cause they don't understand how the company runs
'Cause they think it's the money that you care about
You pretend to be offended cause we figured it out
Tell me, what kind of heaven do you think awaits
If your ass is too fat to fit the Pearly Gates?
It's like the eye of the needle and the limousine
Paradise is set aside for the less obscene
You only care for the power that the lucre brings
And you have no love for any living thing

And you like to rub their face in it
Your god, your god,
Even though you have no faith in it -
Your god is Mammon. Your god is dead."

- Todd Rundgren, from his latest album

I should very much like to buy one of your t-shirts - I like the "Brian's not the messiah..!" one, and I'm also trying to come up with a nifty slogan which summarises an LJ post I made the other day, wherein I announced that I had seen the light, and was going to go back to my parents, and ask my father to find a nice husband for me, who would protect me, and whose sons I would be proud to bear. And to ask my father to make sure he got at least two goats for me. :-)
