I have two new and different songs now - To the moon, by Schubert and Cherry ripe, by Horn. Both a lot more interesting and much more upbeat too. I even got asked to sing one bit again last week, because the Lyn liked the way it sounded. That's progress, that is.
Its holidays, and the moderation preparation has started to get properly serious now. I'm not sure that I will get a clean bill of health, but it will be closer than it might have been. I left teaching just before all the training for NCEA and now it is impossible to get any training, as the theory goes that you get the necessary knowledge while you do your training college stuff, which I don't have to do as I a technically fully trained... So I didn't get trained the first time around, and can't do any catch up courses either. Fortunately, I got some help from the science adviser - my HOD has never had a clean bill of health either.
Posted by Toni at April 22, 2008 10:14 PMHaving gone through the NCEA training, I wouldn't say I was prepared for moderation. The person training us about NCEA Senior Bio brought papers that she had sent for moderation and 7 out of 10 of them did not match the moderators grade. This was the *trainer*!!
There was much bitching and complaining in the Bio training days. Chem seemed much more straightforward.
Glad to hear that Science advisor helped. Last year's Wellington based Bio one was a teacher from my "old" school.
I had to send something for moderation in 2006. Was sooo relieved when it came back A-ok!
